Breakdance – also known as b-boying, b-girling or breaking – is a dynamic dance style that combines acrobatic moves, floor work, footwork and plenty of power. It originated in the 1970s on the streets of the Bronx in New York.
Breakdance consists of, among other things:
Standing dance moves, typically as the intro to a performance.
Moves on the floor using hands and feet.
Acrobatic moves like windmills and headspins – power and skill.
Frozen poses where the dancer holds still for a moment – often really tough.
